The right images for the right image
We’ve all heard the saying that a picture speaks a thousand words, and in an age where people are more likely to be grabbed by an image than a body of text, ensuring they communicate the right message is important.
Your website may be a person's introduction to your Charity, or how somebody keeps up to date with your Charity. So, what is your website telling new people? What is it communicating? It’s important to have the best content possible, particularly images that both catch the eye and are informative. Below we look at some tips as to what that might look like.
1) Show people your Charity in action so that they can catch a glimpse of who you are.
Images of your employees or volunteers in action, whether serving, in a meeting or presenting will give an intimate look into the life of your Charity.
2) The right information.
The images from tip 1 can also be used as a way to show clear and precise information. Perhaps your Charity tagline, opening times or events you’re hosting; being mindful not to overload the images with too much text.
3) Rouse curiosity and invite people into your story.
You can use this space for a compelling message for a new visitor or a timely reminder for regular givers. Perhaps the core values that your Charity is built upon, for example.
4) Highlight your current season.
Get people up to speed and involved right away with the season your Charity is in by using any images that may be associated with current goings-on.
5) Display elements of the inside of your Charity.
Many people show the outside of their building, but for more of a personal touch, consider showing images from within the Charity. Highlight a particular feature for example. This will make people feel more familiar and at ease when the time comes for their first visit to your office.
With Charity Edit you can upload unlimited images. Just remember that you can overdo it, and ensure the images are relevant.
