Whilst we offer various suggestions and tips on our website as to what pages your website should include, we find that many charities that approach us feel stuck when tasked with creating a website.
The page that we are going to look at in this article is the Contact Us Page. Apart from the homepage, this can be the most significant page on your website.
Whether someone is new to the area and looking for a charity, you want to provide a way for them to find out more. Giving clear directives for how to contact you, and also a variety of ways in which to do so, you are helping them to take the next step in their journey.
A contact us page should be clear and directive, people have short attention spans and will not hunt around your website to find out how contact you, so make it clear and easy to find so they don’t leave your website feeling frustrated. Remember to include the following:
- Name of the person who they should make first contact with
- Telephone Number
- Email Address
- Service Times
You may also want to provide your charity address and a map to the charity so that they can easily locate you (and don’t forget a postcode for the sat nav users!). To add a Google Map to your page, please contact us.
Adding a contact form is a great way for people to contact you without leaving the website.
Contact details should be prominent, so create a specific ‘Contact’ page, that can be accessed from your main menu but do consider that someone may be on any one of your pages and wish to contact you, so provide a variety of methods to do so. Putting your details in the footer of your website will be seen across all of your pages and will ensure that your details can be found easily across the website (this can be done within the settings area of Global Office).
Don’t forget to include a prominent link to the contact page on your homepage too, and any social media accounts that you have so that people can contact you easily in a way that suits them.
